Animated Narratives (Grant tk-8)

Animated Narratives is an exploration of visual storytelling in which students create poignant stop-motion animated scenes inspired by classic Armenian folktales. Students will gain cinematic skills in directing, filming, and editing. Throughout the studio, students will concurrently utilize animation filmmaking and creative design techniques such as storyboarding, digital fabrication and peer critique as they collaboratively develop compelling video projects. Through a series of hands-on activities and design exercises, students will develop unique video characters, settings, and props that explore themes found in Armenian folk stories expressed with a current-day cultural twist.

Upon completion of this studio, students will showcase hand-made stop-motion animations created using the foundations of video production.
